Baba Darshan Singh Jee was blessed with Amrit at the age of ten. He was exceptionally literate in Gurmat and was an accomplished Akhand Paahti even though he had not received a thorough academic education.

Bhai Kewal Singh Jee became gravely ill at one point in his life and it was questionable whether he would live. Bhai Sahib did Ardaas to Guru Sahib to bless him with death on the battlefield and sacrifice his body for the Panth, rather than dying in bed. During the protest against the Nirankari cult, Bhai Kewal Singh Jee saw Bhai Fauja Singh Jee get shot and fall to the ground. Bhai Kewal Singh Jee, in a demonstration of his immense love for his Gursikh brothers, lay down on top of Bhai Fauja Singh Jee to protect him with his body from the continued attacks of the Nirankari cultists.
